About the project
Clarify is a Norwegian industrial tech company making real-time data accessible and actionable for frontline teams. Built for industries like energy, manufacturing, and aquaculture, Clarify connects people and machines through a visual, collaborative platform. By turning complex operational data into shared insight, Clarify empowers teams to make better decisions, faster.
Searis, Clarify’s parent company, asked us to create the entire product experience from the ground up — brand identity, user interface, and communications platform. The aim was to build something powerful enough for expert analysts, yet clear and welcoming for anyone who needs to make a decision quickly.
While much of the tech world focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Clarify champions something more human: Intelligence Amplification. Our task was to express that in every detail — from a modular visual system that turns live data into instantly recognisable patterns, to a tone of voice that swaps buzzwords for plain language. Working closely with Clarify’s developers, we shaped and tested the UX through design sprints and real-world feedback, ensuring the product was both intuitive and robust.
Clarify was entering a competitive market dominated by tools that overwhelm users with complexity. The challenge was threefold: simplify without dumbing down, connect the brand and product into one seamless experience, and communicate value in a way that feels human rather than technical.
We built a brand and interface that share the same DNA. The product’s “active lines” — dynamic visual threads representing live data — became a core design element across navigation, icons, and marketing. The result is a system that feels consistent whether you’re inside the product or seeing it for the first time in a presentation.
The UX was refined through research, sprints, and multiple testing cycles with real users, from engineers to plant managers. We ensured that every feature supported quick, confident decision-making. On the communications side, we created a messaging framework that was direct, relatable, and easy to adapt across sales, onboarding, and support materials.
Clarify’s brand and product experiences have transformed how industrial organisations approach their data. It’s now faster to onboard, easier to collaborate, and more satisfying to use — proving that great design can make even the most complex systems feel effortless.
Since launch, Clarify has seen a dramatic boost in performance — visualising data in under half a second, down from several minutes — while reducing infrastructure costs by 70% and increasing developer productivity by 75%. The platform’s combination of clarity, speed, and reliability has helped it win industry recognition and grow revenues past $7.7M with a lean team.
