Redefining Enova.no with a clear, modular, and user-driven web experience.
About the project
Enova SF is a Norwegian state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Climate and Environment, established to promote the transition to a low-emission society. Based in Trondheim, Enova manages the Climate and Energy Fund, supporting innovative energy and climate solutions across sectors. With around 120 employees, Enova works closely with both private and public actors to drive forward sustainable technologies and energy efficiency from concept to implementation.
Enova needed a new website that could communicate complex information clearly, across audiences ranging from private consumers to large industries, while allowing the internal team to update and expand content easily over time.
The challenge was to design a flexible and future-ready website, balancing structure, storytelling, and accessibility.
Following a series of collaborative workshops, we began shaping the new Enova.no, defining structure, UX direction, and the modular system that will form the foundation of the website. Building on our previous work for Enova’s Annual Report, the goal was to create a digital experience that is clear, flexible, and accessible for all audiences.
Enova’s existing site had grown complex, with content aimed at multiple user groups and a structure that made navigation difficult. The main challenge was to simplify the experience without losing depth, creating a framework that could serve as a clear and engaging communication tool for years to come.
The new Enova.no needed to reflect the organisation’s progressive role in Norway’s green transition while maintaining trust, authority, and usability. It also had to be built with a structure that Enova’s own team could manage and evolve independently.
We designed and developed a modular website focused on clarity, accessibility, and storytelling. Built on Sanity CMS, the site gives Enova full control to update, adapt, and expand content over time.
Each section of the site is designed to be modular and bilingual, supporting both Norwegian and English audiences. The UX strategy outlined ensures a simple and consistent user journey across all sections, from program pages and news to dynamic scrollytelling formats.
The result is a digital design system that balances information and emotion, helping users navigate complex topics with ease while giving Enova a long-term, adaptable solution.
The new Enova.no redefines how Enova communicates with the public, combining clarity, structure, and engagement in a way that feels both functional and inspiring.
The redesign gives Enova a digital presence that is open, intuitive, and future-focused, empowering the organisation to share stories, programs, and results in a way that connects people and projects across Norway.
