In 2022, Britannia Hotel marked an extraordinary milestone — 150 years of influence as one of Norway’s most iconic and storied hotels. Since opening its doors in 1870, Britannia has hosted royalty, politicians, artists, and travelers from around the world, earning its place as a cornerstone of culture, hospitality, and elegance in Trondheim.

To commemorate this anniversary, Britannia wanted to celebrate not only its history, but also its continued impact — a living legacy of timeless refinement and modern relevance.

The challenge was to distill 150 years of stories, people, and transformation into a single, tangible expression — one that would feel both exclusive and timeless. Rather than a traditional campaign, the ambition was to create a collectible artifact worthy of Britannia’s legacy: something guests could touch, own, and treasure.

Together with Britannia Hotel, we developed “150 Years of Influence”, a luxurious coffee table book designed as both a visual celebration and a piece of art.

Each edition features one of 150 unique cover images from the hotel’s rich archive, printed in a limited run of 1,870 copies — a tribute to the year Britannia first opened in 1870.

Beautifully bound and bilingual (Norwegian and English), the book combines historical photography, editorial storytelling, and rare behind-the-scenes material from the hotel’s grand reopening in 2019. Each copy is numbered and accompanied by a personal greeting card, reinforcing the sense of rarity and craftsmanship.
