About the project

Britannia Hotel is a historic five-star hotel located in the heart of Trondheim, first opened in 1870. Meticulously restored and reopened in 2019, the hotel blends classic elegance with modern luxury, offering world-class dining, a renowed spa, and refined hospitality. As a cultural landmark and social hub, Britannia continues to set the standard for excellence in Norwegian hospitality.

Over the years, we’ve developed a series of distinctive food & beverage collaborations for Britannia Hotel — from a bespoke cuvée of Ayala Champagne, to a tailor-made Twinings tea range, caviar for Speilsalen, a limited-edition beer honoring former owner Cecilie Clausen, and exclusive branding and packaging for the hotel’s delicatessen store.

The challenge was to create co-branded, high-end F&B products that not only elevated Britannia’s guest experience, but also strengthened the hotel’s identity as a house of luxury, craftsmanship and heritage.

Each product needed to align with the master brand and its architecture of house and distinct brands — while remaining authentic to the partner brand’s DNA and packaging standards. Moreover, the offerings had to perform as tangible extensions of the hotel’s story: objects that guests would recognise, keep, share and talk about.

We devised and executed a brand strategy that anchored each collaboration within Britannia’s brand ecosystem: the master brand (Britannia Hotel) served as the overarching anchor; the partner brands added unique credibility; and the F&B product line became part of the broader lifestyle narrative.

For the Ayala Champagne collaboration we created bespoke packaging and narrative that reflect the bespoke cuvée developed for the hotel’s 150th anniversary. For the Twinings tea range we co-created branding and retail packaging for Britannia’s Afternoon Tea offering, emphasising craftsmanship, provenance and the hotel’s heritage.For the beer and deli packaging we applied distinctive visual language rooted in Britannia’s identity — tying the premium feel of the hotel to these micro-brand expressions inside the F&B space.
