From Rekvisitt to Emero. A strategic rebranding project marking 70 years of history and a bold new visual identity for the future.
About the project
Emero, former Rekvisitt AS, founded in 1955, is one of Norway's leading suppliers of electric motors, conveyor systems, transmissions, and related industrial components. With over six decades of expertise, fast delivery from extensive warehousing, and high service standards, Emero helps industrial clients minimise downtime and maintain continuous operation across Norway.
Ahead of their 70th anniversary in 2025, Rekvisitt saw an opportunity to modernise their brand and clarify their position in the market. As part of this transformation, the company is moving from their long-time headquarters to newly renovated spaces at Dora, and, after much consideration, adopting a new name: Emero.
Nonspace was brought in to lead a brand pre-project, and through in-depth interviews, on-site visits, and strategic workshops, we developed a comprehensive brand strategy, a Brand Cell, and a compelling Brand Story that laid the groundwork for a new visual direction.
The result resonated strongly with the client, leading to a continued partnership focused on developing Emero's visual identity system.
The challenge lay in balancing heritage and renewal - honoring nearly 70 years of history while creating a modern, forward-thinking identity that reflects who they are today and where they're going. The rebrand also needed to align with the company's relocation and name change, creating a seamless narrative across every touchpoint.
Through in-depth interviews, workshops, and on-site observations, we uncovered the core of what makes Rekvisitt - now Emero - unique. Building on these insights, we delivered:
- A brand strategy defining Emero's values, positioning, and purpose.
- A brand story connecting their proud past to their ambitious future.
- A brand cell summarising the emotional and functional DNA of the brand.
With this strategic foundation in place, we moved into developing a visual identity system including logo, colour palette, typography, graphic elements, and design principles, supported by mockups for key brand applications such as workwear, signage, brochures, and branded materials.
The project provided clarity, direction, and enthusiasm for the next chapter of the company's story. Rekvisitt's transformation into Emero now rests on a strong strategic and creative foundation - one that reflects both its 70-year legacy and its vision for the future.
The process established a shared understanding within the organisation and paved the way for a confident, cohesive, and contemporary new identity launched in 2025.
