A safe space for the dog. A seamless moment for the owner. A small but meaningful shift in how cities make room for the people and the pets who live in them.

About the project
Lildog is a Norwegian pet technology company providing smart GPS trackers for dogs and cats, designed to offer real-time location, activity insights, and temperature monitoring. Developed and manufactured in Norway, Lildog combines rugged hardware and intuitive app features, including an avatar that mirrors per behavior, to enhance security and strengthen the bond between owners and their animals.
Lildog hotel is a dog house concept and digital service for urban pet care. The concept brings together physical design, digital interaction, and sustainability, offering a safe, comfortable space for dogs while their owners explore the city around them.
Developed from early sketches to interactive prototypes, the project bridges architecture, industrial design, and digital UX/UI into one cohesive, modern service ecosystem. It extends the Lilbit product family through calm, considered design and ultimately helped secure investment for the company’s next chapter by making the future feel tangible and real.
Cities are designed for people. Rarely for the dogs they bring with them. Urban dog owners face a quiet but persistent tension: the desire to be present in their neighborhood, and the responsibility of having a dog who can’t always come inside.
The challenge was to resolve that tension through design, creating an experience that feels genuinely caring and effortless for both owner and dog, while staying true to the warmth and simplicity that defines the Lilbit identity.
Each pod is compact, climate-controlled, and designed to feel like a place, not just a product. The design language draws from Scandinavian simplicity: soft forms, natural tones, and functional warmth. Nothing sharp, nothing cold. Just a quiet confidence that everything has been thought through.
The companion app lets users locate, reserve, and unlock their Lildog Hotel through an interface that feels as calm as the pod itself. Every detail, from the iconography to the tone of voice, was designed to reduce anxiety and build trust. Because when you leave your dog somewhere, what you really need is to feel that they're in good hands.
At every touchpoint, ease and transparency come first. Not just good design, but design that genuinely respects the relationship between an owner and their pet.
Lildog Hotel demonstrates how thoughtful service design can create real value, for users, for the brand, and for the people who believe in it. The concept strengthened Lilbit's position as a forward-thinking player in urban pet care, and directly contributed to securing investment for the company's continued growth.
Sometimes the most meaningful design solves the smallest problem. The kind you didn't know could be solved until someone cared enough to try.
